Each fall, Ogunquit comes alive with colorful foliage, festive decorations, and plenty of seasonal charm. At Lafayette Hotels, one of our favorite traditions is bringing giant pumpkins to our four Ogunquit properties, creating festive displays that are made for exploring, photographing, and enjoying year after year. Many nearby businesses along Main Street and Shore Road participate to make it an extra special time in Ogunquit, Maine each fall season.

October is such a great time to visit Ogunquit, Maine as the leaves start to change and the area begins to quiet down after a busy summer season. Ogunquitfest is a must-see local area event with lots of fun activities planned. Businesses begin decorating for fall in early October, some even earlier. Enjoy the beach, restaurants and downtown shops with fewer crowds and just as much charm.
The best part? There’s always something new happening each fall season. Come back each year to enjoy local events, visit the giant pumpkins and enjoy everything that makes Ogunquit so special in the fall.

Start your Ogunquit fall pumpkin stroll 
at Norseman Resort, where you can take in the ocean views near our fun fall seasonal display. The whole walk to visit all four Ogunquit Collection properties is less than one mile each way. Enjoy it! There is paid parking available at Ogunquit Beach (near Norseman).
From there, make your way up Beach Street toward the giant pumpkin at Aspinquid Resort.

Take a left on Bridge Lane and follow it to Wharf Lane for a scenic shortcut to Shore Road. Take a left on Shore Road and keep walking to arrive at nearby Sparhawk Resort, right near the entrance to Marginal Way. In 2025, we had an artist carve an amazing octopus in the Sparhawk’s giant pumpkin weighing over 1,450 pounds!
